There are many places to visit and things to do in Boca Raton, Florida. Here are some suggestions: Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, Flagler Museum, Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse, Manatee Lagoon, and more.

Flagler Museum

Located in Boca Raton, Florida, the Flagler Museum is a must-see museum. Founded in 1799, this museum celebrates international culture and art. The museum features art collections from across the world. It also has a renowned archival library and historic Chinese and American houses.

Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse

The Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse is a great place to visit for a family outing. Built in 1906, the lighthouse is a historic landmark. The Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society operates a museum on the site. On the weekends, the lighthouse is open for tours. It is also home to the Barefoot Mailman statue, which honors the postal carriers who carried mail along the beach from 1885 to 1892.

The Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse is situated in a picturesque location, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The lens is nine feet in diameter and produces the brightest light in the United States, visible from 28 miles away. While you’re there, take time to see the view from the top. The lighthouse is also home to Cap’s Place restaurant, which has an interesting history. During Prohibition, it was known for its illegal booze. It was eventually renamed Cap’s Place. The restaurant is still in operation in historic shack-like buildings.

If you’re looking for a romantic getaway, you may want to check out the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse. This historic structure is located on the north side of Hillsboro Inlet, between Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale. To schedule a tour, visit the website. Tours are offered on certain dates in September and October. The tours depart from Sands Dock, where guests should arrive about 30 minutes before the tour begins.

If you are driving, you can use a navigation app to find the quickest and least expensive route. It provides directions to both points and calculates the cost. You can also check out restaurants and accommodation in the area, which is important if you’re traveling on a budget.

Manatee Lagoon

Wild Manatee Center: The Wild Manatee Center is a great place to learn about these majestic creatures. There is seasonal viewing of wild manatees and several hands-on exhibits. The center also features a gift shop. There are also many outdoor activities to enjoy.

Manatee Festival: The Manatee Festival is free and family-friendly. It features free sea-life-themed face painting, sidewalk chalk stations, and giant coloring books. The festival also offers educational coastal chats and arts & craft vendors. Attendees can also enjoy the festival’s array of food vendors.

Manatee Lagoon Discovery Center: The manatee-themed exhibits at Manatee Lagoon include hands-on exhibits, a manatee webcam, and an observation deck. There is also a boardwalk where visitors can picnic and take in the views. The center also features an outdoor cafe, mini-golf, and a gift shop.

Wild Manatee Center: The new facility allows visitors to see wild manatees during the coldest periods of the year. The water temperature of the lagoon needs to be around 68 degrees for the manatees to appear. During these times, visitors can check the live webcam to see if the manatees are present. The manatee, also known as the sea cow, is a gray waterplant-eating gentle giant that grows to eight or fourteen feet long and weighs up to a ton.
