Social Media Reacts to: Liverpool 5 Napoli 0

Liverpool ran out as 5-0 victors over Napoli in Dublin, and The Anfield Talk’s Dale (@coldcoldgal) took a look at the social media reaction…

Following an relatively easy win over Italian heavyweights Napoli, in Dublin, many Liverpool supporters have taken to social media to celebrate and share their excitement for the approaching season.

The game was an important one, despite being only preseason, it was Alisson’s Liverpool debut and in front of 50,000 fans there was no room for mistakes. Being saddled with wearing unlucky 13 on his back, the goalkeeper had a rusty start but deflected a number of Napoli’s goal efforts.

After Salah’s goal in the second half it became abundantly clear quite how out of their depth Napoli were, and Liverpool’s confidence only kept growing as they kept the goals coming. Five goals up, fans weren’t short of praise for the Reds after the match, while some began looking into whether Alisson was worth his hefty pricetag.

Sturridge has got me under his spell. Praying he stays fit.

Very solid performance from us today. Alisson looked good in goal as well as Mane and Sturridge when he came on. No excuses for us not to win a trophy this year

Liverpool have looked scarily good at times in this game. Mane, Salah, Firmino brilliant as usual, Sturridge impressive again! Keita brilliant! Very promising

Shaqiri and Sturridge were sensational when they came on too👌🔴

Liverpool’s first XI all looked good, barring Alisson, who was predictably rusty after returning from vacation. Clean sheet though, and no reason to doubt he’ll settle in with time

And the level Alisson bring. Above all odds. Sorry Karius & Mignolet just like Ant Man and The Wasp now.

Alisson being so good on the ball is probably the reason Klopp was gunning for him. He could basically lob a ball forward that’s smooth enough for our front three to get on the end of and just score. Rounded keeper.
