Liverpool completed their preseason campaign this evening, beating Torino 3-1, thanks to goals from Firmino, Wijnaldum and Sturridge. The Anfield Talk’s Dale (@coldcoldgal) took a look at the social media reaction…
After Saturday’s triumphant 5-0 defeat of Napoli, Liverpool went into tonight’s match versus Torino not so quietly confident. Fans came to social media to celebrate the win following the match.
Despite Torino giving Liverpool a real challenge for the opening ten minutes of the match, the Reds pulled it back quickly following a missed penalty with a one-two punch from Firmino and Wijnaldum. It was a constant back and forth during the second half, which saw Henderson make a welcome return, his first outing since the World Cup. It was third time lucky for Sturridge who managed a goal within the last five minutes.
The general consensus is that while Alexander-Arnold and Salah really held their ground in the first half, all eyes were on Fabinho. Supporters were drawn about Fabinho’s performance, though most were positive, happy with how he’s settling into Liverpool’s midfield 3.
Well played Fabinho, forget about that penalty pal♥️👏

It’s about time we made someone else the “Scouse Cafu” the last one ended up not being worthy of the title. Trent Alexander-Arnold is the true Scouse Cafu 🇵🇪🇧🇷

Shaqiri fits right in Klopp's LFC and Sturridge is reborn (unexpected bonus)

My Dad and I are amazed how much Fabinho runs and carries himself like Gerrard. Look at the arms.

Difference between Hendo and Fabinho is clear to see. Fabinho not scared to position himself higher in between the lines and gets involved in the 2nd phase, Hendo drops deep unnecessarily to split CBs for a 3v1 or 3v0

What really offers me hope this season is that we have lots of different midfielders and attackers. It gives Klopp the option to set up differently for each opponent as desired/required

Still can't believe Daniel Sturridge exists again
