Preview: Club World Cup

lThe Club World Cup is one of the only trophies Liverpool are yet to win and it could provide a boost to this squad before an already hectic winter period. I believe that we should take this as seriously as possible and even if we play anywhere near where we can for any amount of time against any other team in the competition we might face and we will be world champions.

Klopp is likely to play a strong side in the semi final against Monterrey as its further away from the game against Leicester on Boxing Day. The Mexicans aren’t likely to prove a massive test in this game and I would expect Liverpool to progress with relative ease. Especially if Salah or Manè hit anywhere near the form they’ve showed recently.

Monterrey are likely to play a 4-2-3-1 with the one being brother of former Everton player Ramiro Funes Mori leads the line. They haven’t failed to score in more than a year so we may have to be wary of them in attack, but again we should progress without really having to exert ourselves.

If we do progress we’re likely to play Flamengo in the final who have Al-Hilal in the other semi final. If it is Flamengo I would expect them to have more intensity than Monterrey. They will be desperate to prove themselves in a big game against European opposition. Flamengo will also play a 4-2-3-1 with Gabriel Barbosa leading the line. Again we will have to be wary of the goal threat he will pose but if Van Dijk play I would expect him to be handled. Former Chelsea Left Back Filipe Luis is also likely to play for the Brazilians.

I feel Klopp will take this competition seriously. For me, that only means one thing. We will be world champions. We just have too much for the other teams in the competition and even if we play in second gear we should win.

In the first game I think we will beat Monterrey
4-0 and progress to the final and beat Flamengo     3-1.
