After Manchester City piled pressure on us by beating Arsenal 3-1 at the Etihad, we need 3 points at West Ham to settle some of our fans nerves. Here’s the first XI that The Anfield Talk’s Ian (@ianyoungkop) thinks Klopp will select for tonights crucial game in London.
Alisson: Hasn’t looked his usual assured self the last few games, losing his first choice right back and Gomez seems to have had an effect on him. Hopefully we’ll see the real Alisson tonight.
Milner: Hopefully Milner will slot in at right back as he seems to be the most natural replacement for Arnold and Gomez
Matip: With Gomez still injured and probably out till March, it seems Klopp prefers Matip over Lovren.
Van Dijk: Like Alisson, hasn’t seemed himself the last couple of games. Not sure the warm weather training in Dubai has had the desired effect.
Robertson: Gave away the needless free kick that we conceded from against Leicester. Dare I say I certain other left backs would’ve been criticised if he did the same, rightly or wrongly.
Fabinho: I’m hoping Klopp is thinking the same way as me, and thinks Fabinho can bring back some stability into our central midfield.
Henderson: Some may disagree, but I believe Henderson has been in good form recently. Would like to see Keita get a run in the team but I believe Henderson will get the nod ahead of him.
Wijnaldum: Believe away from home Klopp will go for a conservative midfield, so if he needs to change it up he can go more attacking in the second half.
Mané: After scoring to give us the lead, Mane will be hoping to score and finish on the winning side this evening.
Firmino: Can’t see “Bobby” getting dropped for any matches soon, he’s the man in our team who can make something happen from nothing.
Salah: Salah seemed to be struggling against Leicester, maybe holding on to the ball a bit too long, hopefully he can make up for a goalless game against Leicester tonight against West Ham.
