It’s back to Champions League duty, after a pretty impressive 2-0 league home win against Chelsea. We carry a 2-0 advantage into this second leg quarter final match against Porto, but can’t take anything for granted. Here’s who The Anfield Talk’s Ian (@ianyoungkop) thinks will take to the field tonight for Liverpool.
Alisson: Wasn’t overly tested against Chelsea, but again saved what should’ve been saved, when asked.
Alexander-Arnold: Was good going forward against Chelsea, but yet again looked like he got caught out of position a few times when Chelsea had the ball.
Van Dijk: Our defence struggled with Hazard, for about 10-15 minutes in the second half, but otherwise looked untroubled.
Matip: Again a good solid display, I’ll never get over that nervousness of him carrying the ball out from the back though unfortunately.
Robertson: Played well against Chelsea, but as with Trent, got caught out once or twice. I guess that’s one of the dangers of having full backs, who’s starting positions are in the oppositions half.
Fabinho: Fabinho eventually got to grips with Ruben Loftus Cheek and Kante buzzing around him. From then on was rarely threatened.
Wijnaldum: With us being two goals ahead in this tie, Klopp may feel that not conceding is the main priority. Therefore he may choose Gini over Naby.
Henderson: “Hendo” seems revitalised playing further up the field, my biggest question of Jordan will always be, how long he can stay fit for.
Mané: Apart from Van Dijk, you’d be pushed to find a better player for us this season. His form this season has been exceptional.
Firmino: Firmino looks to have recovered from his World Cup hangover just in time for the run in! Was fantastic against Chelsea
Salah: Salah was awesome on Sunday, and his goal was absolutely out of this world! There’s no way our Egyptian King doesn’t start!
