Predicted XI: Norwich City (H)

The Anfield Talk’s Ian Young gives his choice for the Liverpool team to face Norwich in the opening game of the 2019/2020 season on Friday evening.

It’s opening day of the Premier League and I couldn’t be happier! Let’s forget about transfer gossip and get back to the game on the pitch!

Alisson : The only way Alisson doesn’t start is if he is injured or it’s the early rounds of a cup – best in the world!

Trent Alexander-Arnold : Started off sluggishly against City in the Community Shield, but was still a danger from the wing and his set pieces.

Van Dijk : Played well at the back and popped up with an assist on Sunday. Seems to be improving for us in the opposition’s box as well.

Matip : Can’t really drop Matip in the form he’s in at the moment. Position his is to lose now.

Robertson: Incredible engine, incredible attitude, simply incredible – best left back in the league.

Fabinho : One of the best players in the world in his position. He’d easily be one of the first names on the team sheet if it was me picking the team.

Keita : Hopefully this season we’ll see the real Naby, potentially could be the difference between us winning the league and not.

Henderson: Thought he looked off the pace, Sunday hopefully will find his from from the end of last season.

Mane : Despite only returning back to Liverpool this week, I’m guessing Sadio will be ready and willing to go!

Firmino : I thought Bobby looked shop on Sunday. Only thing missing was a goal.

Salah: Did everything but score at the weekend! Can see this being another record breaking season for Mo!
