St Etienne, Olympiakos, Dortmund, another one of those nights is needed again, but which eleven will take to the pitch to get us over the line tonight?
Alisson: He’s come into his own the last couple of games as one of the best keepers in the league. He showed on Saturday that as well as world class saves, and the distribution of a central midfielder, he can win a header like the best of them too.
Alexander-Arnold: I had to deliberate on whether Klopp would go with Arnold here, or the potentially more conservative choice at right back of Milner. I’m guessing TAA for tonight, I believe Klopp will want us on the front foot from the start.
Lovren: If Lovren has recovered from his concussion then I believe if you had to choose between Matip and Lovren on the day, Lovren will always just edge it! It’s a game where you’d want Lovren to be at his very best.
Van Dijk: It’s a night for leaders and some consider Van Dijk our captain elect. Big nights call for big players, and I’m yet to see a game where Virgil hasn’t stood up.
Robertson: In a game of this magnitude you tend to go with your best eleven, and apart from Gomez’s abscence I’d say this is Liverpool’s best defender and keeper.
Henderson: It’s very unlikely in a game so big, that a manager starts without his captain, personally I’d start with Fabinho, but with him starting against Bournemouth on Saturday I have an inkling he’ll go with Jordan.
Wijnaldum: After a fantastic start to the season, I believe that Gini has regressed slightly, but I still think that he’s one of our most tactically intelligent midfielders and will keep a calmness to the midfield when others will want to break lines and power forward if we still haven’t scored after 20 minutes.
Keita: After Naby’s performances over the last two matches, it would be a brave manager that would drop him, like TAA, I deliberated over him and Milner who would start the game, put I’ve put my neck on the line and predicted the boss will go with Naby!
Mane: When seeing Naby come on in the second half against Bournemouth on Saturday I breathed a sigh of relief as I think Mane could be the difference between Liverpool and Napoli. When things aren’t going our way, Sadio has the ability to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and create something out of nothing.
Firmino: With the importance of this game and the fact we don’t play until Sunday, I find it hard to believe that we won’t go with our fantastic front three. Hopefully we’ll see Bobby in his best position as the number 9.
Salah: Hopefully our one season wonder can put in another incredible performance as he did the weekend and we can go on to the knockout stages of the champions league!
