Predicted XI: Manchester City (Community Shield)

So here it is, the official beginning of the new season, as Liverpool kick off the football year with the Community Shield clash with Manchester City.

Alisson: Alisson is the best keeper in the world for me right now, add it’s surely a no brainer that he starts!

Trent Alexander-Arnold: What a 2018/19 season Trent had! Champions League winner already, and being talked about as one of the best fullback’s in England. Hopefully his upward trajectory continues.

van Dijk: Another person who I think is the best in the world in his position. The man’s a man mountain and I’m glad he’s ours

Matip: When Joe Gomez got injured, I was legitimately concerned, and thought we’d struggle, but Matip not deputised brilliantly for Gomez, he’s now a genuine challenger for his position.

Robertson: I think you’ll find it hard to find a better left back in the world, never mind Europe. His performances improve game after game, he’s unstoppable.

Fabinho: After a slow start Fabinho became our midfield controller, so much more than just a defensive stopper, starts off so many attacks with clever passing. Could go on to be the best in his position in the world.

Milner: With this being against City, I think Klopp’s going to go with a conservative midfield rather than use Keita or Gini. Plus if we get in a position we’re we need to make attacking changes, then we have Naby and Gini on the bench.

Henderson: I feel Henderson may have won the majority of Liverpool fans over, towards the end of last season, and it should all be about keeping that momentum going and hitting the ground running for Hendo!

Wilson: Now this might be a bit out of left field, but I believe The Boss may give young Harry a chance to see what he can do.

Firmino: As good as Bobby is, I felt he had an underwhelming season at times last season. If Bobby can have a much improved season this time round, we won’t be far off the big prizes.

Salah: Another summer gone, another summer were we’ve managed to keep hold of our prized asset! He’s going to be so important to our season.
