Predicted XI: Man United (A)

The Derby and United games are the games I dislike the most. I always feel the most tension before these games, and I’m sure a lot of other fans feel the same. With this game being our game in hand that could take us clear at the top of the table, there’s going to be even more tension in the away end at Old Trafford!

Alisson: Our keeper had another game where at times he looked unsure of himself against Bayern Munich this week. He’ll need to be on form today with a revitalised Man Utd attack.

Trent Alexander-Arnold: Got a bit of stick after the Bayern Munich game, but I thought did well after returning from injury. I think a few of our fans had forgotten how much Henderson and Milner had struggled there.

Virgil Van Dijk: Although we missed Van Dijk against Bayern Munich we still kept a clean sheet. As well as having Van Dijk back as a defender, it means we have Fabinho back as a midfielder.

Joel Matip: Matip has deputised well for Gomez, but will need to be at his very best this afternoon

Andy Robertson: I really think United can be got at down the flanks, but our full backs need to make sure we aren’t leaving too much space behind themselves too.

Fabinho: Fabinho has reached the stage where he just oozes class each game, whether he’s covering at centre back or controlling the midfield, Fabinho is one of the first names on the team sheet

Jordan Henderson: Henderson seems to be saving his best performances for home legs in Europe, how we could do with a good away performance in the Premier League, this afternoon.

Georginio Winjaldum: Gini was great again against Bayern, after previously being man of the match against Bournemouth. Hopefully he’ll have the United midfield turned round today.

Sadio Mane: Mane had a rare off game against Munich on Tuesday, hopefully that goal scoring run he had before Bayern will return.

Roberto Firmino: Got a funny feeling, Firmino will be playing in his deeper lying position today. Hopefully he’ll be keeping their midfield and defence busy today.

Mohamed Salah: If United come at us today, Salah could have a field day, another who looked not on it against Bayern on Tuesday, hopefully that blip will disintegrate against United today.
