After dropping points at Goodison last week, we’ve put unneeded pressure on ourselves and are now playing catch up. Here’s the first XI that The Anfield Talk’s Ian (@ianyoungkop) thinks will start against Burnley at Anfield today… Alisson: Alisson despite a slight dip in form after Christmas, seems to be back to his best and hopefully he’ll stay that way for the remainder of the season. Trent Alexander-Arnold: Was somewhat disappointing against Everton last week, but he wasn’t the only one. Van Dijk: Virgil was and absolute Colossus against Everton last week, and if it wasn’t for him, the blues could’ve easily nicked the three points. Matip: Matip’s defensive side of his game was pretty much faultless against Everton, although he did have my nerves on edge when he went on his forays forward with the ball. Robertson: Similarly to Alexander-Arnold, Robertson was disappointing against Everton, letting his delivery let him down. Hopefully it was just a blip in the road. Fabinho: Fabinho was one of very few of our players who did themselves justice at Goodison easily one of the first names on the team sheet today. Wijnaldum: I thought Gini was poor against Everton and which with the way his form has been this season was surprising. Hopefully back to his old self today. Keïta: Here’s hoping Naby gets a run out today, in the last few games, we’ve been desperate for a man who’ll run forward with the ball, hopefully Keïta gets another chance today. Mané: None of our front free where good against Everton, very little movement, and just didn’t seem to click at all. Firmino: When Bobby is on form, not only is he a fantastic player in his own right, but he seems to be able get the best out of Mo, who is really struggling of late. Salah: Mo really struggled against Everton, I’d go far as to say as he may have had his worst game in a Liverpool shirt? Maybe this 50th premier League goal for us is getting to him? Hopefully he’ll get it soon and and all that pressure will relieve from his shoulders. Do you agree with my first choice eleven? Tweet me @ianyoungkop! Come on you Red men!
