Predicted XI : Burnley (A)

After a dramatic late derby day winner on Sunday, has Divock Origi earned a starting place against Burnley tonight? Here’s who The Anfield Talk’s Ian (@ianyoungkop) thinks will be in the first eleven to take the field for this fixture…

Alisson: Despite Divock Origi stealing the 3 points in the derby last weekend, some will say Alisson was Liverpool’s man of the match with top class saves and starting off the move that eventually lead to the winner. Alisson in the last few games is starting to look like a world class keeper and I can’t seem he being rested any time soon.

Alexander-Arnold: In the last couple of games our full backs have been finally looking something like the players they where last season. Trent seems to have been spurred on by his goal on international duty.

Gomez: Gomez has been fantastic so far this season, and you can’t avoid it, that our defence is at its best when Gomez partners Van Dijk in the centre. His clearance off the line against Everton was just as good as a goal.

van Dijk: What can I say about van Dijk that hasn’t already been said, you’d be hard pushed to a find a centre back in the world who’s enjoying the form that big Virgil is currently.

Moreno: With Robertson apparently injured, Moreno gets the chance to prove his worth to our squad.

Fabinho: With an impressive game in the derby I believe it’d be more damaging to take him out than to rotate him. I think our number 3 needs a run of games before we truly see the best of him. Personally I see Fabinho, Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain being our best midfield three in the not so distant future.

Henderson: After his suspension this weekend, I wouldn’t be surprised to see our captain return to the starting eleven this evening. I also think that playing Jordan in a more advanced role may get the best out of him.

Keita: Hopefully the time has come to release Naby on the opposition, and I believe like Fabinho, once Keita gets a run of games, we’ll see why Klopp splashed so much cash on the box to box midfielder.

Firmino: With Mané injured, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bobby move out wide, as I think of all our attackers he’s most likely to be able to help out Moreno, unless Klopp surprises us and goes with Lallana.

Shaqiri: If Keita comes into midfield I can see Xherdan playing out wide on the right so Firmino can cover the left hand side due to Mané’s absence.

Salah: We aren’t about to rest our top scorer when we need goals. The free scoring Reds are absent, but the digging in deep and grinding out a result Reds are going to need their top scorer tonight.
