Coutinho (6′), Firmino (52′, 66′), Alexander-Arnold (65′), Oxlade-Chamberlain (82′)
THE REDS ARE AS GOOD AS PIGS IN BLANKETS.
An early stroke of magic from Philippe Coutinho looked to set the tone but the majority of the first half was slow and lethargic, with the Reds looking like they were nursing a Christmas hangover. The second half though, snapped into life.
A Roberto Firmino volley smashed in before a peach from Trent Alexander-Arnold was followed up by a second from the Brazilian just a minute later. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain capped off the win with a lovely lofted finish.
Up the Reds.
Simon Mignolet- 6/10
Had nothing to do bar one save right at the end.

Trent Alexander-Arnold- 10/10
Brilliant performance. Loads of lovely work down the right hand side, some delectable balls in. Showed good intelligence and anticipation for his goal, and what a goal it was.
Joel Matip- 7/10
Didn’t really have anything to do, was sound. Didn’t get injured.
Ragnar Klavan- 8/10
Same as above but an extra point for being the worlds best centre half.
Andrew Robertson- 7/10
Did well. Seemed to spend a lot of time at left wing. Some nice balls in and was generally sound.
Georginio Wijnaldum- 8/10
Don’t think he was great first half but was very good in the second.
Emre Can- 6/10
Was clearly carrying a knock in the first half but was slow and ponderous, and in my opinion was responsible for a lot of the lethargy felt in the first half. Loads of three or four touches then a turn then rolling it back to Matip. Played a couple of good balls and was improved in the second.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain- 8/10
Was good at linking the midfield and the attack. Had a couple of efforts on goal and produced a sublime piece of football and a cracking finish for his goal. Lovely goal in front of the Kop and then goes home to Perrie Edwards, not a bad evening.
Mohamed Salah- 7/10
Had a ‘quiet’ game and still notched two assists. Really unselfish for Firmino’s goal but perhaps could’ve passed in one or two other situations.
Roberto Firmino- 10/10
His pressing that creates the first goal and then scores the second and the fourth. The second is a brilliant finish. The fourth is just cheeky. Oh, and there were two chances he should’ve done better with.
Philippe Coutinho- 10/10
Gorgeous finish for his goal, wrapping it round the defender. I’ve ran out of superlatives to describe him.
Dominic Solanke- 7/10
Will he ever score a senior goal? Got into loads of good positions but fell short with the finish.
Adam Lallana- 7/10
Full of gorgeous turns inside and out. I’ve missed that.
James Milner- N/A
Imagine his face when at 5-0 up against Swansea he’s asked to play left back for ten minutes.
