Matip (41’), Salah (49’ pen, 58’) // Torreira (85’)
THE REDS ARE MAGIC
The Reds dismantle Arsenal yet again as they maintain their 100% win record and sit top of the league. Early days, but handily placed.
Up the Reds.
Doesn’t have a great deal to do. Some major confusion between him and van Dijk.
Trent Alexander-Arnold- 6/10
Was alright but was guilty of just lashing balls into their box, which wasn’t always helpful.
Joel Matip- 9/10
Some great defending and a great goal from his 50p head. Also brought the ball our from the back really well.
Virgil van Dijk- 8/10
As usual, great. Might’ve been dribbled past. Gargantuan.
Andrew Robertson- 7/10
Had the freedom of the left hand side and put in some great balls. Unlucky not to walk off with an assist.
Defended well and helped keep Arsenal penned in their own half in the first half. Got booked for an off the ball tussle.
Georginio Wijnaldum- 6/10
Did alright. Went backwards and awful lot and I think he hindered a few attacks. Used his body to good effect at times.
Jordan Henderson- 7/10
Played an absolute unreal ball in the first half and honestly I don’t think I’m over it. Was perhaps guilty of overdoing the clipped ball into the back post.
Mohamed Salah- 9/10
Two goals and could’ve had more. Had a great effort with his back to goal at one point.
Sadio Mané- 7/10
Worked well down the left hand side with Robertson. Was part of some intricate moves which didn’t quite come off.
Roberto Firmino- 10/10
Doesn’t get a goal or an assist but I think he was the best player on the pitch. Full of tricks and running and I was halfway to town when he flicked that one up for himself.
James Milner- 6/10
Ran on and did some stuff. Possibly didn’t help things settle down.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain- 6/10
Ran on and looked phenomenal.
Adam Lallana- N/A
Ran and ran around a bit.
VAR and the officials- 8/10
The red card review in the first half was a bit weird but otherwise worked well. Shoutout to Anthony Taylor for giving Salah the penalty without him having to go down.
