Salah (52′, 76′) // Vardy (3′)
THE REDS END THE YEAR ON A HIGH.
They concede the early goal and show loads of character to pull it back and get the win. Loads of thing go against the Reds, the early goal goes in and the Reds have two of their own disallowed. But they never let their heads drop, and get the win in the end.
A win that feels massive, for everything it represents, the fighting, the willing, the character to get back into to it.
Happy New Year Reds.
Loris Karius- 7/10
Not a great deal to do, looked generally tidy and commanded the box well in the second half.
Joe Gomez- 8/10
Grew into the game. Reading of the game was good, and showed good game intelligence with a couple of clever fouls.
Joel Matip- 6/10
Made the early mistake with the pass and was quite frankly petrified afterwards. Never really recovered from his mistake.
Dejan Lovren- 7/10
Was largely good, showed good strength to deal with Leicester’s physicality in the second half.
Andrew Robertson- 7/10
Worked well down the left with Milner but his decision making was a bit off at times, and his crossing was often poor. Looked as though he tired, and to be fair to him he’s gone from playing no minutes to every minute.
James Milner- 7/10
Tidy play, worked well with Robertson but was largely ineffective in the second half.
Emre Can- 6/10
Poor for the first, see below:
Watched their goal again, Matip looks at Can, tells him where he’s going to pass it, Can looks at him and stands still complelely it oblivious that he’s supposed to find space for a pass given where he’s playing. Top 5 DM’s in the world.

Very sloppy opening twenty minutes but improved after that.
Philippe Coutinho- 7/10
Not his best performance of the season. Improved as the game went on and played some terrific balls.
Mohamed Salah- 9/10
Gets the two goals that win Liverpool the game, which is nice considering at half time I’d be saying he really should have scored twice. Managed to absolutely end Harry Maguire’s career.
Roberto Firmino- 7/10
Worked throughout and always showed for the ball. Wins loads of headers. Even the ones he shouldn’t be winning. All of the headers. Not always at the forefront of the action but always contributing.
Sadio Mané- 6/10
Looks like he’s really struggling at the minute. Decision making and generally play was off, but was unlucky to have two goals disallowed.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain- 7/10
Good energy when he came on and helped the side advance up the pitch well.
Georginio Wijnaldum- 6/10
Good use of the ball and made himself available, something that can’t always be said of Wijnadum.
Ragnar Klavan- 10/10
He’s beautiful, isn’t he? Klavan D’or.
