Salah (65′) // Willian (85′)
LIVERPOOL CAPITULATE FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A WEEK.
Liverpool worked hard and fought to get a goal ahead against Chelsea yesterday evening, before a late Willian cross/shot floated over Mignolet’s head to level the score and cap off a disappointing week for the Reds.
Simon Mignolet- 5/10
A couple of decent saves but once again it’s a goal that he could probably do better with.
Joe Gomez- 7/10
Solid defensively. Generally sound but some dodgy decisions in the final third.
Joel Matip- 7/10
One terrible clearance aside was solid.
Ragnar Klavan- 7/10
Literally the same as above.
Alberto Moreno- 8/10
Massive turn around from midweek, as he looked assured and confident at the back and was also good going forward.
James Milner- 5/10
Really toiled in midfield and was largely ineffective but as ever he put a shift in.
Jordan Henderson- 6/10
An improvement from midweek but was pulled ragged by Hazard. Made some key interceptions. Would probably have been helped by a partner that wasn’t toiling like Milner and actually had an interest in defending, unlike Coutinho.
Philippe Coutinho- 5/10
Pretty absent for the second game running. Had little interest in tracking Drinkwater and largely shirked his defensive duties. One nice through ball for Salah aside he was rather tame.
Mohamed Salah- 8/10
As always is Liverpool’s brightest light. Aside from his goal was generally bright and looked to trouble Chelsea.
Daniel Sturridge- 6/10
Didn’t do a lot wrong but what he did do wasn’t particularly effective. Some nice link up play and dropped deep to link the play. Unfortunately, against the Chelsea defence that wasn’t what was needed.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain- 6/10
Looked bright with some nice touches and beat his man a couple of times. Important flick on to direct the ball into Salah’s path for his goal.
Georginio Wijnaldum- 5/10
Looked absolutely knackered and probably wasn’t the sub that was needed.
Adam Lallana- 10/10
Sadio Mané- 10/10
Was fuming at Klopp. Well in.
