Can (26′), Firmino (45+1′), Salah (78′ pen)
THE REDS ARE BACK IN BUSINESS.
A performance that was needed, not the million miles an hour, hectic and chaotic Reds, but the cool, calm and controlling Reds.
The first comes from someone just having a shot, which often helps. The second is delightful, the sneakiest of finishes from Roberto Firmino. The third comes from the penalty spot, with Mohamed Salah notching yet another goal.
They’re back. Up the Reds.
Loris Karius- 8/10
I have seen Loris Karius make an actual save and rubbish the common belief that he doesn’t have hands. He does. He used them. He used them to keep things out of the goal and to start attacks. He’s good when he uses his hands.
Loris Karius just made a save I am shook

Joe Gomez- 6/10
Think his effectiveness is limited in games where we dominate possession but he did alright.
Joel Matip- 6/10
Passed one out for a throw in at one point, which was a bit mad. Improved from Matip, though question marks still remain.
Dejan Lovren- 8/10
The business. Loads of aggression and front foot defending, would like to see him partnering van Dijk very soon.
Andrew Robertson- 6/10
Offered loads of width but his crossing left a bit to be desired. Lofted one over the bar at one point.
Emre Can- 8/10
Much, much improved. Looked completely liberated by Henderson’s presence and was allowed to roam. Well taken goal and two great balls in for Mané.
Pity he’s leaving though, innit.
Jordan Henderson- 8/10
Nice to see him back and being great. Kept things ticking over in the midfield and took his opportunities to push forward more well. Still finding sharpness but looking good.
James Milner- 7/10
Thought he was good. Passed well, pressed well, retained possession well. Well in, Jim.
Sadio Mané- 6/10
Toiled all night with his first touch. Still going through a tough period which isn’t ideal seeing as he can’t be rested because our backups are shite.
Still, got into good positions to miss the goal so I suppose that’s half the battle. The rest will come.
The positive about Sadio Mané's run of 'poor form' is that he's still creating chances.
The finishing will come.

Roberto Firmino- 10/10
Full of work and running and delicious finishes. Completely made a show of their goalkeeper, giving him the eyes and squeezing it in off the post.
Mohamed Salah- 8/10
Again, not at his best and there’s one or two he should’ve done better with, but has the guts to take the penalty off Milner and tuck it away. Not the greatest penalty, either, but it went in, that’s all that matters.
Dominic Solanke- N/A
Ran on the pitch.
Georginio Wijnaldum- N/A
Ran on the pitch. At least I noticed him.
