Player Ratings: Porto 0 Liverpool 5 (Five)

Mané (25′, 53′, 85′), Salah (29′), Firmino (70′)

You might’ve expected a typical away performance to ensue; defend resolutely and try to nick an away goal. This Liverpool side doesn’t know what typical is. It’s idea of typical is fucking mental for everyone else.

Sadio Mané is back among the goals as he bagged three of them, with Firmino and Salah adding the other two. Porto were beaten, and beaten well, and this tie should be all but over heading back to Anfield, with the chance to rest players ahead of a crucial tie with Manchester United.

If you think Jordan Henderson isn’t lifting the great big shiny thing in Kiev in May then you need to grow up.

Up the Citrus Reds.

Loris Karius- 8/10
Didn’t have loads to do but claimed stuff well. Isn’t it amazing what a run of games can do.
Trent Alexander-Arnold- 8/10
Bossed the right hand side of the pitch after their lad looked to test him early on. Saw him off and was the business all night, good going forward and backwards.
Dejan Lovren- 8/10
Great performance. Fantastic last ditch tackle in the first half and showed good strength to win the ball back in the buildup to our first. Looks boss next to van Dijk.
Virgil van Dijk- 9/10
As with Lovren, I thought he was very good. Aside from one dodgy attempt at a tackle was impervious, and was pinging balls like no ones business. £75m well spent.

Andrew Robertson- 8/10
Got forward well all game and put some great balls in. Was strong in the tackle and available all night, and broke some kids heart to get Mané the match ball. My hero, my mate.
Georginio Wijnaldum- 8/10
Excellent first half and brilliant determination for Mané’s opener. Managed to hold off most of their team at times.
Jordan Henderson- 9/10
All the right decisions. Was first to everything, good positionally, good passing. Everything you want.
James Milner- 8/10
Quite clear that he’s the best player in the world. Does great for Salah’s goal, and is unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Great awareness for the assist for Firmino’s goal, too. Think he was late to every challenge he made but it was all sound.

Sadio Mané- 10/10
Not sure he was great first half but got a slice of luck with his goal and is now hopefully back in the business of being the business. Good reactions for his second and tucked the third away with aplomb.
Roberto Firmino- 9/10
Those backheels, mate. Filthy. Sexual. Erotic.

Loads of great hold up play and strength, loads of harassment in both halves. And a great finish for his obligatory goal.
Mohamed Salah- 9/10
He did keepy ups around the goalkeeper in the away leg of the last 16 of the Champions League. That’s fucking mad. Was otherwise fairly quiet by his standards, and could’ve played in Mané at one point but picked the wrong pass. Still though, he’s breaking every record ever written.

Joel Matip- N/A
Ran onto the pitch.
Joe Gomez- N/A
Also ran onto the pitch.
Danny Ings- N/A
Another one who ran onto the pitch.
