Alexander-Arnold (14’), Firmino (30’) // Kanté (71’)
THE UNBEATEN RUN CONTINUES.
Liverpool continue their 100% record at the top of the Premier League table as they defeat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. A wonderful free kick from Trent Alexander-Arnold gave Liverpool the lead. The Reds conceded a sloppy goal that was ruled out by VAR, and went up the other end and doubled their lead through Roberto Firmino.
The second half was a dire affair, with possession changing hands every few passes. A N’Golo Kanté goal have Chelsea hope but it wasn’t enough.
Up the Reds.
Made some terrific saves, the from Abraham stands out. Distribution was also good.
Trent Alexander-Arnold- 8/10
Sublime free kick. Really strong first half, both going forward and defending but faded badly in the second and looked leggy.
Joel Matip- 9/10
After a shaky game against Napoli, Matip was sensational today. Couldn’t count how many headers he won, especially in Chelsea’s late flourish.
Virgil van Dijk- 8/10
Alongside Matip, won a load of headers. As usual, good positioning, rarely looked uncomfortable. The norm.
Andrew Robertson- 7/10
Not sure to be honest. Think he was quite good. That burst through the pitch at the end was wonderful.
Lovely rugby tackle for the booking. Was great aside from for their goal, but in fairness there were about four other lads who could’ve done something. Not a bad way to mark your 50th Liverpool appearance.
Really like to see us time wasting and other snide little things, we’ve had it done to us for years

Jordan Henderson- 7/10
Thought he was excellent first half and really set the tone with his pressing. Not as good in the second half as he couldn’t get a foothold on the game.
Georginio Wijnaldum- 2/10
His highlight of the game was doing shuttle runs for 90 minutes. Then he decided to start breaking up our own attacks. In the bin.
Mohamed Salah- 6/10
Was full of running and endeavour but his end product was lacking. Aside from one or two moments in the first half the Chelsea defence dealt with him well, especially Tomori.
Sadio Mané- 6/10
As with Salah, was kept relatively quiet. He wins the free kick for the first goal. Otherwise, wasn’t really his day.
Roberto Firmino- 6/10
As with the other two of the front three, wasn’t really at the races. Good movement for his goal though, and a well taken header. Thought he looked knackered by the end.
James Milner- N/A
Ran on and lashed one of their lads. Got booked.
Adam Lallana- N/A
Ran on. Not sure he touched it.
Joe Gomez- N/A
Ran on. Definitely sure he didn’t touch it.
