Liverpool came back from a goal down thanks to a hat trick from Natasha Harding last Saturday.
Sunderland got off to a great start as captain Lucy Staniforth put the hosts in front, with a powerful shot flew past Siobhan Chamberlain and in off the bar.
Mere seconds later and Natasha Harding levelled for Liverpool, as she rounded the goalkeeper and fired into an open net.
The second half started with a period of Sunderland pressure, as Chamberlain was twice called into action. Liverpool responded, and Beth England and Alex Greenwood had a flurry of shots, which culminated in Liverpool winning a corner. It was Greenwood who delivered this corner, scoring directly from it to put the Reds in the lead.
Sunderland fought to try and level but it wasn’t to be, as Harding drew out their goalkeeper before firing over her to score her second.
Her third came twenty five minutes later as she drilled a low shot past the Sunderland goalkeeper to bag her hat trick and seal the win for the Reds.
Liverpool Ladies’ next game is away to Durham Women on the 5th of November, kick off is at 12:00pm.
