The draw has taken place for this season’s Club World Championship, giving Liverpool the details of their path to an eventual final.
Liverpool take part thanks to the Reds securing their sixth Champions League title in June.
The CWC will be held in Qatar, ahead of the 2022 World Cup being held in the middle-eastern country. The Reds enter the competition at the semi-final stage.
Liverpool will play either CF Monterrey, Al Sadd SC, Hienghene Sport or the runners up of the AFC Champions League. The final of the AFC Champions League concludes on November 24 and is currently in the quarter-final stages.
Teams left in that competition include Guangzhou Evergrande and Al Nassr.
Liverpool will play their semi-final match on December 18 with a third-place playoff or final both being played on December 21.
The competition has forced the postponement of Liverpool’s Premier League game with West Ham, which was due to happen on the Wednesday of that week.
The game against the Hammers is rumoured to now be happening sometime in the new year.
Hopefully, this will be Liverpool’s third piece of silverware of the calendar year. Can they do it?
