First XI Prediction: Newcastle

After being winded by an horrific low blow in our Champions League semi final first leg, it’s back to Premier League action as we visit St James Park and Rafa Benitez lead Newcastle United.

Alisson : Some quarters may have questioned whether he should’ve been beaten from that far out for Barcelona’s third goal, but I still wouldn’t have anyone else in our goal.

Arnold: Thought Klopp made a mistake playing Gomez right back on Wednesday night so I assume he’ll go back to Trent at right back today.

Van Dijk : Despite Messi having an incredible game against us on Wednesday, Van Dijk never looked anything else but world class.

Matip : Had one of his best games for us on Wednesday in my opinion.

Robertson: His war against Suarez was interesting to say the  least, the only time he got away from Robertson was to go to the opposite side of the pitch.

Fabinho : Hopefully there was no lasting effects from Messi’s right hook. Another who I thought played well up until the last 10 minutes on Wednesday night.

Henderson: Thought after some impressive performances in the last few weeks, he looked out of sorts against Barcelona, seemed indecisive in his passing.

Winjaldum: A thought Klopp’s other big mistake was playing Gini as a false 9. Too many times when he received the ball in promising positions, he like Henderson was too indecisive.

Mane : If Liverpool as expected don’t make it to the final in Madrid, there’ll always be that what if Mane had buried that chance in the first half. Hopefully he’ll make up for it by getting on the scoresheet today.

Firmino : Felt he was really missed on Wednesday night. By the time he came on, we where playing catching so we couldn’t play our usual game.

Salah: Was dangerous on Wednesday night but just never got on the scoresheet, fingers crossed this season doesn’t end up being trophyless.

That’s the team I think will take to the pitch today , do you agree with me, tweet me at @ianyoungkop.
