First XI Prediction : Arsenal

The Christmas period has been huge for us so far, let’s hope we fair equally as well with the New Years fixtures, starting with Arsenal at Anfield later on today!

Here’s the team I think will take to the Anfield turf later today!

Alisson: Although Virgil seems to be getting all the praise, with Van Dijk, Alisson’s name never seems to be far behind. Getting the recognition he deserves, Alisson seems to be going from strength to strength.

Alexander Arnold: Trent looked on top form against Newcastle on Boxing Day and with Milner out injured I can’t see the boss giving him a rest or dropping him at the moment.

Lovren: Well what a finish from Dejan on Boxing Day, I’m not sure anyone was aware Lovren had that in his locker. With Gomez and Matip still injured I don’t think we will see Lovren back on the bench for a while.

Van Dijk: This guy at times seems to be super human, built like a bronze statue and moves like a hot knife through butter. Genuinely don’t believe there’s a better player in Europe right now.

Robertson: I thought our two full backs had their best game against Newcastle on Boxing Day, definitely their most attacking, more of that today please lads!

Fabinho: A goal against Newcastle and an assist in each of the two games previous, Fabinho is proving to more than your generic holding midfielder, the guy is growing in stature every game!

Henderson: Henderson has been impressive in the last two games and with his Vice Captain out injured, I’m guessing Klopp would like one of his Captains on the field.

Shaqiri: Arsenal can be got at, at the best of times, but with the injuries they have at the back it’d be crazy not to go on the offensive against Arsenal.

Mane: Mane’s shooting boots seem to be in disarray at the moment, but his control and pace are still all there for all to see. Mane’s getting ready to explode.

Firmino: Even though Bobby will probably play in his role as a deep lying 10, I’d love it if the boss let him play as 9 today, because I don’t for one minute believe that Arsenal could cope with him.

Salah: Salah our one season wonder, top of the goal scoring charts and top of the league, after last season’s Champions League disappointment, and the World Cup not delivering much better, maybe Salah is about to get the rewards he deserves!
