BREAKING NEWS: Alisson agrees personal terms!

According to Sky Sports, Alisson Becker has agreed personal terms with Liverpool Football Club ahead of a record smashing move.

The Brazilian goalkeeper is set to sign a FIVE-year contract with the Reds with his medical due to take place this week. Reports in Italy suggest he’s cut short his holiday to complete his move to Merseyside.

This comes just hours after Liverpool had reached an agreement with Roma for the transfer of the Brazilian number one, with the fee believed to be £66.8m.

Paul Joyce has in the last few moments tweeted that Liverpool’s £66m bid for Alisson has been accepted by Roma and that permission to speak with the player has been granted.

Melissa Reddy also reported the news alongside Neil Jones and you can expect other outlets to report it soon.

With Liverpool already having spoken to the player it should be a matter of time before he is a Red. Other clubs had the chance to bid for the Brazilian goalkeeper but opted not to, leaving Liverpool the sole destination for Alisson.

More as we get it.

Respectable English journalists are now also jumping onto the Alisson news with multiple sources talking about a proposed £62m move for the Brazilian goalkeeper. We understand that Roma, despite being under no pressure to sell, would be willing to see Alisson leave for a world record fee.

James Pearce (Echo), Neil Jones (GOAL), Chris Bascombe (Telegraph) and Dominic King (Mail) are amongst the reporters currently saying that the Alisson bid has been made.

John Arne Riise has also said it but let’s not look into that, eh?

One of the longest running narratives of this summer’s transfer window in regard to Liverpool Football Club has been the seemingly never-ending chase for a goalkeeper. That chase could be about to end.

According to Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio, Liverpool are in advanced talks with Roma over the transfer of Brazilian goalkeeper, Alisson Becker.

A series of tweets laid out the current situation the two clubs find themselves in.

Alisson is supposedly set to chose Liverpool over Chelsea, who, under new management are also interested in the Brazilian number one. However Chelsea are yet to match Liverpool’s latest bid.

If the report is true, Liverpool will be paying a world-record fee for a goalkeeper, only seven months after breaking the world record fee for a defender. A statement of intent from Jurgen Klopp to build on last season’s Champions League final and fourth place League finish.

This would also most likely signal the end of Loris Karius’ Liverpool career after single handedly costing Liverpool the CL final, however this may be true even if the Alisson deal doesn’t come to fruition.

Stay tuned to The Anfield Talk for all the updates regarding Alisson’s proposed transfer.
